In-House Lab & Diagnostic Services

When you're concerned about your pet's health, awaiting test results can be extremely stressful.

In our in-house lab, we can perform tests and obtain results quickly, so that your concerns can be resolved and treatment started as soon as possible.

At our in-house lab, we can run the following tests:

  • Complete Blood Counts (CBC)
  • Blood Chemistry Panels (to evaluate organ function)
  • Parvovirus Testing
  • Heartworm Detection
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Exams & Intestinal Parasite Testing
  • Electrolyte Evaluation
  • Cytology of Skin & Ear Samples
  • Feline Leukemia & Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Testing

Digital Radiology (X-Rays)

During your pet's exam, digital radiology captures data directly and immediately transfers it to a computer system.

Digital radiology offers better resolution and contrast than traditional x-rays, and the software allows us to manipulate the x-ray images for additional diagnostic value. With digital radiology, we also require far less radiation, making it safer for your pet.

In short, we receive higher quality images more quickly and safely, resulting in more accurate diagnosis and more efficient treatment in the long run.

Ultrasound

To create an image, ultrasound uses sound waves transmitted into the body. An ultrasound can help locate a foreign object, detect tumors and provide diagnostic information.

With ultrasounds, fluid can be distinguished from soft tissue masses or foreign bodies, which can be difficult to ascertain with an x-ray. This makes ultrasound technology useful in the diagnosis of hemoabdomen and pericardial effusion (blood in the abdomen and surrounding the heart). If your pet requires an ultrasound, we have a specialist that will come to our clinic to perform this specialty service.
