Pet Surgery, Everett Veterinary Surgeon

Vet Surgery for Cats & Dogs

We offer a number of surgical procedures for dogs and cats at our Everett  animal hospital, using best-in-practice surgical techniques and stringent surgical protocols.

During each pet surgery, anesthesia is administered by a dedicated nurse and your pet is continuously monitored using electronic patient monitoring equipment. We will also provide pain management.

Following pet surgery, we will prioritize post-operative monitoring and pain management. Your vet will also provide detailed instructions for at-home care.

What to Expect from Veterinary Surgery

We will always ensure you are fully informed about why we're recommending any surgical procedures, in addition to any post-operative care your pet will require at home. We also practice stringent surgical protocols.

Surgical Procedures

Our vets at Broadway Animal Hospital routinely perform the following elective and non-elective surgeries:

  • Soft Tissue Surgery

For pets experiencing disorders in the ear, nose and throat, we offer soft tissue surgical procedures.

These procedures are also available for urogenital, hepatic, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, skin and oncological disorders.

  • Mass Removal

Masses associated with the skin can develop in cats and dogs. These masses may also grow inside a body cavity and can become serious or life-threatening.

Surgery to remove a mass is a fairly common procedure for both cats and dogs.

  • Wounds

If living tissue is cut, burnt, broken, torn or otherwise damaged, wounds can occur.

It's imperative that wounds are professionally cleaned, disinfected and appropriately cared for by a qualified veterinarian as soon as possible.

  • Spaying & Neutering

When our vets spay or neuter a dog or cat, we surgically sterilize them to prevent disease and provide them with an extended life expectancy.

Veterinary Surgery Process

We understand that finding out your pet needs surgery can be intimidating - and concerning. Please rest assured that we recommend surgery only when it is in the best interest of your furry friend.

We'll ensure that you fully understand why we are recommending surgery, and that you are comfortable making the decision to move ahead.

Surgical protocols at our clinic include:

Pre-surgical assessments. We will confirm the details of the procedure, complete a physical examination of your pet, and make sure blood tests have been performed and reviewed by the vet in order to determine if your pet faces any risk of anesthesia-related complications.

Dedicated surgical suites. Surgeries are completed in a dedicated surgical suite. This room is kept completely sterile to prevent infection and cross-contamination.

Surgical attire. At all times when they are in the surgical suite, our staff wear disposable caps and masks. Those involved in the procedure itself will also wear sterile gowns and single-use gloves.

Sterile packs and equipment. Prior to every surgery, we carefully clean, sterilize and wrap our surgical instruments and equipment.
